A. Premium Economy is a separate class of seating and service designed to attract travelers who want an elevated flight experience over the standard Economy class. The Premium Economy fare is between standard Economy and Business class fares. Expect below additional comfort, convenience, and luxury.

Q. How much does Premium Economy Cost?

A. While multiple factors affect the airfare, below discussion based on routes may help you build some general idea as how expensive or affordable the Premium Economy airfare could be.

Flights over the Atlantic Ocean (e.g. USA-Europe)

Compared to the standard Economy flights over the Atlantic Ocean, Premium Economy is generally 85% more expensive. However, when booking a flight closer to the departure date, the gap between Premium Economy and Standard Economy reduces, and the Premium Economy is just 35% more expensive. Sometimes the difference in fare is even narrower.

Flights over the Pacific Ocean (e.g. USA-Asia/Australia)

Compared to booking Economy for flights over the Pacific Ocean, Premium Economy fares are generally 95% more expensive than standard Economy fares. Unlike the high difference in airfare price noticed for flights across the Atlantic Ocean, flights across the Pacific Ocean show little variation by booking time.

Q. What is the difference between Premium Economy and Business Class?

A. A Premium Economy flight ticket generally costs 65% less than a Business Class flight ticket. However, in terms of space and amenities, Business Class is way ahead of Premium Economy. Business Class offers up to 50% more legroom and seat pitch, significantly greater recline, more substantial leg-rests and headrests, and superior food and beverage offerings. Additional amenities and comfort of Business Class are not just limited to in-flight experience, but also on the ground at departure, connection, and arrival airport. Business class fliers enjoy Premium Longue services too.
